CLEANING and CARE INSTRUCTIONS

(50 psi Compressor)

Cleaning:

Daily:

Pour out old water from the nebulizer jar and replace with fresh DISTILLED water.

Monday, Wednesday, Friday:

Wash the nebulizer jar and lid, drain bag, and trach mask in soapy water.  Rinse well.

Soak the washed parts in a solution of one (1) part white vinegar and one (1) part water for 30 minutes (½ water, ½ vinegar, ½ hour).  Rinse well with running water and let dry between two (2) clean paper towels.

You should always have two (2) nebulizer jars on hand.  While you are cleaning one, you can use the other.

Weekly:

Throw out the tubing, drain bag, and trach mask.  Replace with new tubing, drain bag, and trach mask.  MAKE SURE YOU ALWAYS KEEP A SPARE OF EACH PART.

Wash the sponge dust filter(s) on the compressor under running water.  Squeeze dry in a towel until you cannot feel any moisture in the sponge(s).  Replace on the compressor.

Monthly:

Call to order supplies one (1) week before you need them.

Throw out the two (2) nebulizer jars and replace with the new ones when your supplies arrive.

Troubleshooting:

Little (or no) mist is coming out of the mask:

Check to make sure all of the tubing connections are secure.

Check to make sure the nebulizer jar is screwed onto the lid correctly.

Check to make sure there is water in the jar and the little tube from the lid is in the water.

Check to make sure the compressor is turned on and there is a pressure between 20 and 40 psi registered on the gauge.

If there is still no mist coming out of the mask, call our office for assistance.

You can also increase the amount of mist by rotating the collar on the nebulizer jar to open the hole.
