Good work team!

Mitchell Home Medical meets and exceeds usage compliance goals!

Posted November 13th, 2018

Excellent work by everyone at MHM (see graph)!

Remember that 18 months ago our usage compliance goal was 80% for PAP. Eight months ago, we set the lofty goal of 84% usage compliance.

Note: July usage compliance reported from U-Sleep/Airview is now @ 88%. August usage compliance is already at 84% with 15 days of potential patient compliance left in the 90-day cycle.

Every referral source should be notified of this information. We are an extension of their success!

Successful partnerships create positive patient outcomes!

PAP troubleshooting

Need help troubleshooting with patients?

From Diane Loewen 9/12/18

Hi Team,

As you are all aware, the management team and I continue to find avenues to secure our business foundation by making strategic operational decisions so that we can continue to conduct business in this ever-changing industry of HME.

Please be advised that MHM has arranged for a “segment” of our “existing” “re-supply only” patients to be provided by Verus Healthcare, a respected national supplier that prides itself on friendly and helpful customer service, just as Mitchell Home Medical does. This arrangement commences at 1:00 pm Wednesday, September 12, 2018.

Note: The patients that are within the segment of this arrangement will be sent a letter to inform them of the MHM arrangement with Verus.  Medicare letter   Private insurance letter

Should any of you answer a patient call, and or walk-in’s seeking clarification regarding the “re-supply”, letter, etc. regarding the MHM and Verus Arrangement, please communicate to the patient politely:

[] For PHONE inquiries:

    - Thank the patient for the call/inquiry and politely inform the patient that you will place/transfer their call to our resupply customer care representative that will assist them.

    - MHM CCR’s triage team is as follows, in this order: Please advise the CCR what the call entails😊

Tedi - the number 1 CCR

            Anita - number 2

            Molly - number 3

                 Chelsea - number 4

[] For WALK-IN inquires

Ann Arbor – Tedi at this time

Brighton – Stephanie at this time, Molly if Stephanie is not available.

[] For REFERRAL inquires

            Me (Diane)

            David

Referrals will be receiving letters from MHM, and our representatives will be conducting informational visits to their perspective geographic referral territories.

NOTE: For this segment of the existing “re-supply” patients, MHM “will” continue to take care of the patient PAP equipment. Please remember that we continue to conduct “all” other business as usual; take all “new” “re-supply patients, re-pap, and new pap orders.

[] For existing patients in the three-month compliance period, existing supply patients that have not been enrolled in the Verus program, and all new patients’ setup after 9/12/18- Patients will continue to be enrolled in the S3 program as usual.

This MHM/Verus arrangement provides MHM with operational “advantages” for the better good of our livelihood. 😊

As always, please direct any questions directly to me (Diane)!

With Sincere Gratitude,

Diane

Webinars & Research studies

Conducting group CPAP classes and assigning patients peer buddies can significantly reduce the amount of time that your RTs spend on new patient setups, and can lead to better compliance outcomes for your patients! •CPAP adherence is greater for new patients who receive group education about OSA and CPAP during their setup when compared to patients who receive individual education;3 and
•CPAP adherence is greater among patients who are assigned a peer buddy during the setup process.

CONCLUSION:
A population-based CPAP program consisting of consistent follow-up, "troubleshooting," and regular feedback to both patients and physicians can achieve CPAP compliance rates of > 85% over 6 months

The main result of our study was a higher effective compliance than previously reported, approximately 80% of the patients being regular users versus 46% in a previously published study.

We conclude that APAP(FOT) is as efficacious as constant CPAP in the treatment of OSAS. The treatment pressure can be reduced significantly, and sleep microstructure improved with APAP(FOT). These might be the reasons for patient preference of automatic therapy..

CONCLUSIONS:

A single screening question immediately after autotitration is useful in identifying those at high risk of treatment failure.

Patients who require higher fixed CPAP use autotitrating CPAP more and report greater benefit from this therapy.
